The ARG I-MUX permits cost effective robust transmission and reception of IP data and DVB-ASI on single or multiple E1 or T1 lines. Ideal for migrating n x 2 Mbit/s microwave assets to Ethernet.
The ARG I-MUX overcomes the bandwidth issues of T1 1.55Mbit/s and E1 2 Mbit/s circuits by seamlessly and robustly combining several circuits T1 1.55Mbit/s or 2Mbit/s together. Up to eight E1 or 8 T1 framed or unframed circuits can be added together to provide up to 15.76 Mbit/s of usable Ethernet IP bandwidth.

The I-MUX does not require pre-bonded circuits. Indeed, it can combine circuits together which have different clocks from different networks. In use, the I-MUX compensates for up to 64 ms of delay between circuits. In addition, a choice of two levels Reed Solomon Forward Error Correction (FEC) makes it the most robust and reliable Inverse Multiplex solution available.
Dual power supplies and a large installed based contribute to a calculated MTBF of over 30 years. The speed of installation and commissioning, requiring no special tools or a computer interface, minimises staff training and significantly reduces cost of ownership. An intuitive front panel provides local set up and control. A web server interface and the SNMP capability provide remote management and linkage to third party network control systems.
An Asynchronous Serial Interface (ASI) is a 270Mbit/s unbalanced serial data stream utilising an 8B/10B line code. Presentation is on a 75 Ohm BNC connector. DVB ASI standard EN50083-9
Read moreThe ARG Media Combiner measures the frequency of each incoming ASI data stream and transmits the resulting frequency data for each channel in a separate channel to that of the Transport Stream data to all the receiving Media Combiners.
